The idea is the only part of most pieces of art I make rather than actually doing research on the history of that idea and the possible relevance and impact that idea will have on that history and itŐs future.
How do we think about perspective in the modern day? Postmodern day?
Are we just using the ideas of our predecessors?
Are we really thinking about them in a way that we can understand them?
Are we adding anything to them?
Do I think a strongly about my ideas as Descartes or Aerostatle did?
Does the work have completion, yet leave the viewer with more questions than they entered with? CanŐt get it out of their head.
Can you or does your piece snatch some poor soul right out of their Levis and get them to engage in a conversation whether they like it or not?
Am I trying to get a conversation going or simply communicate my thoughts on the viewer?
Why do I want to make art?
Making
Rock star
Save the masses from their own banality
Make a statement
Understand self / others / ourselves
Reducing the technical aspecow the conversation not to be about a clearcut image?
The gap between the viewer and the object – withdraw of the artist from the work.
Scopic regimess
The notion of the expanded field – chaos theory – we exist in a system (which may be bigger than we know) in other words we have a connection with each other
